(Anchorage, AK) Ashley Bashore changes her plea to guilty today, in hopes of striking a deal. Last year, the then 19-year-old was charged of killing a village man, when she allegedly struck him with a vehicle, while texting according to police.

Authorities say the victim, 28-year-old Hubert Tunuchuk, was struck on the Tudor Road overpass at the New Seward Highway.
Bashore pleaded guilty to Operator Failing to Render Assistance to Injured Person After Accident and to Criminally Negligent Homicide, according to documents.

Failure to render assistance has a rage sentence of 0 to 10 years, negligent homicide also 0 to 10 among other stipulations according to officials.

"We came to an agreement, 3 years with 2 suspended, you know 3 years probation, my client has no criminal history so it seems to be a reasonable resolution of the case," said Rex Butler of Rex Lamont Butler & Associates, Inc.

Bashore's mother is set to be her third party custodian for now.

Sentencing is set for October 19th. Before that, Bashore will be allowed to go to Seattle for medical reasons.
