ANCHORAGE - This week is National Pet Sitters Week, a time to recognize those people that care for our pets while we're away.

However, long holidays away may not be the only time your dog needs extra stimulation.

"This is a chance for dogs to socialize with their own species," said Kari Campbell, owner of Dog Tired. "For them to learn their language and how to play appropriately in a safe environment that's stimulating and exercises both their mind and their body and ultimately, makes a tired and happy dog."

Dogs are put into groups based on their size, age and temperament and while human school includes learning your ABCs, these courses are much more flexible.

"We really just let them enjoy each other," said Campbell.
