Fort Wainwright Soldier Shot by Trooper

A Fort Wainwright soldier Timothy Fitzgerald, 28, is being treated at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital after being shot by troopers at a campsite today (8/1 in the early morning hours.

An Alaska State Trooper shot a man who was pointing a gun at officers in Delta Junction.
A Fort Wainwright soldier Timothy Fitzgerald, 28, is being treated at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital after being shot by troopers at a campsite today (8/1 in the early morning hours.
Troopers responded to a report of an intoxicated man firing a gun. When the officer arrived, Fitzgerald was lying on the ground pointing a gun at them. The trooper responded by shooting and hitting him.
Fitzgerald was treated at an army hospital before being transported to Fairbanks Correctional center.
The troopers name is being with held pending investigation.
