An uncertain economic climate has gold prices climbing the charts, and miners looking for their next big find.
Alaska may be rich in minerals, but Nome is the only beach in the state where you can easily find the colored stuff.
Megan Mazurek flew up to Nome over the weekend (7/23) with photo journalist Jared Mazurek for the story.
