It's a long time Valdezian legacy with a little twist.

If you drive by the Kennedy House near the Valdez Pioneer Field Airport chances are you'll see quite a few furry friends.
The Kennedy family believes several years ago someone dropped a couple of bunny rabbits off and the numbers went up from there.
By the end of winter there were about 6 rabbits and now there's nearly 30.
The couple says they've made safe places for them to get away from coyotes, eagles and ravens; adding the rabbit gathering has become a somewhat local attraction.
"Now and then people stop to take pictures or to ask about them or they bring their fishnets to capture one," said Lavonne Kennedy, a retired school teacher.
You might be surprised to know the rabbits are hanging out with big names in aviation history.
The Kennedy family is of the "Kennedy Air Service" a small family owned and operated carrier serving southcentral Alaska.
According to local airport information, the service based in Valdez from 1957 to 1978 had been established by David Kennedy.
"He went into the civil air patrol and then went to Louisiana at that time they were flying submarine patrol, in the gulf of mexico and that's what he did," said Gary Kennedy, a retiree from the State of Alaska.
Local history says the Kennedy family of Valdez and Cordova has more than 50 years of un-interrupted flying service to their communities and continue to be aviation pioneers.
