Rondy Helicopter Rides
ANCHORAGE - Alaska's favorite festival, signifying the end of a long winter, is finally here. Fur Rendezvous is well under way with many activities to see and do.
Helicopter pilot Mark Miller is encouraging Rondy visitors to see things from a different point of view. "It's just a 6 minute introductory ride," says Miller, the owner of Talaheim Lodge and Air Service. "People can see Anchorage from the air, we stop right next to the Captain Cook Hotel [and] we do some hovers and pedal turns. It's like a roller coaster". A helicopter pilot for more than 20 years, Miller estimates he has flown 3-4000 people since he began the service 15 years ago. The helicopter rides are available March 2-3 at the Ramada Hotel parking lot on the corner of 3rd and A street. Tickets are $50 per person. |
