ANCHORAGE-It's history in the making thanks to the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. On Wednesday, it revealed plans for the first affordable housing complex designed for both seniors and families."They've mixed the flat units and senior style in with the town house style family units. It's really something we haven't typically seen in Anchorage," said Mike Courtney, Director of Operations at AHFC.

This is a two part project. In Mountain View,  14 new buildings and 70 units will be built.
All designed to maximize light and those breath taking views of the mountains.A few streets away, one of the corporations oldest buildings will be completely demolished and rebuilt.

The total cost for both projects falls just under 30 million dollars.paid for by grants, federal tax credits and private funding.AHFC says they hope to break ground this summer and have them completed by next year.
