South Anchorage residents on the fence about proposed high school stadium
ANCHORAGE-The Anchorage Planning and Zoning Commission is preparing to decide whether enough steps have been taken to mitigate noise and other disturbances from a proposed stadium at South Anchorage High School.
Some residents are concerned with the incresae traffic the additional stadium could bring. Olive says she's concerned with Huffman Rd. Others are worried about the actual neighborhood streets,"they tell us it won't be a problem because people will car pool, but we don't see it that way. We see it as mom will come in one car and dad in another because they both work," said Eastman.
He also says the neighborhood streets already get narrow when someone has a garage sale and people park on the side.
Residents will ahve the opportunity to voice their concerns at a public meeting Feb. 10.
