ANCHORAGE-Anchorage drivers may notice less white and more orange when they cruise the pavement.Which can only mean it is time for spring and summer road projects

."We're doing a lot of paving projects. Our big paving projects will bee 5th ave.and 6th ave." said DOT central region engineer, Thomas Dougherty.

The DOT says many of the projects will be worked on at night. Making it easier for tourists and commuters."When we pave in downtown Anchorage, the traffic gets to the point we cant get anything productive done during the daytime," said Dougherty.

The DOT says you can get real time information online with a 511 website. From downtown Anchorage to the Parks highway and beyond, this years detours shouldn't be too much for drivers to handle.
