The man charged with the kidnapping and murder of a coffee stand barista is the prime suspect in a double homicide in Essex, Vermont.

Israel Keyes, 34, is awaiting trial in the kidnapping and slaying of 18 year old Samantha Koenig, news reports out of Vermont tie him to the murder of a couple whose bodies have not yet been found.

Keyes told officials where they could find the bodies of the missing couple while being interrogated about the dissappearance of Koenig.

She was abducted February 1st from an Anchorage coffee stand where she worked. His trial is scheduled to begin March 11th, 2013.

In a press conference Friday, reported by WCAS-TV, U.S. Attorneys say they believe they know who the person is who committed the abduction and murders of a Vermont couple.

In a report from WCAX-TV, the U.S. Attorney's office said, "The investigation has developed significant information that William and Lorraine Currier were abducted from their home and murdered shortly thereafter. The person believed to have committed the murders is in custody in another state and will remain in custody. No charges have been brought against this person for the Currier's murders, but charged are anticipated," said Tristram Coffin, the U.S. Attorney for Vermont.

Authorities say they have enough evidence to believe Bill and Lorraine Currier were abducted from their home in early June and murdered. Their bodies have not been found. According to WCAX-TV, a local t.v. station in Vermont, authorities found the couple's garage window broken, and a .38 caliber handgun was missing and the phone line had been cut.

WCAX News says it has confirmed Keyes was staying in Essex at the exact the time the couple went missing. And he checked out of his hotel the day after they disappeared.

Keyes has not been charged with the murders of Bill and Lorraine Currier, but charges are expected.
