I come from a long line of successful entrepreneurs in my hometown of Marietta, Georgia. Growing up, the people skills I learned from my family laid a strong foundation down for me in terms of communication. Before age 10, I’d already decided to combine my skills and become a sports reporter for ESPN. By 19, I started living the dream by attending Jacksonville St. University, jumping through the communications program as one of the top students in my class.
By the time I graduated, I had achieved numerous honors. Taking first place in several student competitions, becoming the first student to intern with WSB-TV ABC affiliate in Atlanta, and having a reporter job lined up in a tough job field are just a few of my accomplishments.
My first job took me to Olean, NY where I played various rolls in the Channel 25 WVTT news room. From hosting my own radio show, to Multimedia Journalism, I helped pick the independent station off its feet. Immediately, I was attending Common Council meetings on my own accord and became good friends with their mayor.
I believe in working hard to gain one’s trust and respect, I don’t think it’s a given.
I strive for perfection, especially as it pertains to competitiveness.
I have been the health reporter for Your Alaska Link five months now. If I can impact lives by informing health issues surrounding Anchorage and Alaska, I know I’m doing my job right.
I love everything about the Alaskan life. Between the Moose, to the bald eagles, I’m eager to see what the rest of The Last Frontier has to offer.
