I am a fourth generation Alaskan, with deep roots in my hometown of Seward. My family taught me by example that community service is an important part of our heritage, so I have invested my time on the Anchorage Arts Advisory Commission, Seward Historic Preservation Commission, Seward City Council, and the Pioneers of Alaska Anchorage and Seward Igloos. I currently sit on the board of Alaska Child & Family and serve as Chairman of the Board for the Friends of Jesse Lee Home.

I have been honored to work all over the nation on a wide variety of projects that have really stretched my skill set - from designing the VIP rooms for Super Bowl XXXI at New Orleans, shooting a cover photo for the national magazine Backyard Chicken, having my Great Alaskan novel Midnight Blue Noon sell out at Barnes & Noble, winning awards as a visual artist, and acting in a feature film, Sugar Mountain.

Among the varied celebrities I have interviewed are actors, musicians, business leaders and authors, including: Dr. Ruth Westheimer Jason Momoa, Cary Elwes, Horse whisper Monty Roberts, Jim Belushi, William Shatner, Robin Leach, Eddie Money, Aaron Tippin, John Ratzenberger. Senator Frank Murkowski, Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Ted Stevens, Congressman Don Young, Alaska Governor Bill Sheffield, Alaska Governor Wally Hickel, 2012 Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson and vice presidential nominee Judge Jim Gray, NYTimes Best selling authors Edward Timperlake and Don Reardon, Unibomber exposers David Kaczynski and Linda Patrik. World Champion Dog Musher George Attla, Iditarod veterans Dan Seavey, and Rod Perry.

My biggest passion is preserving Alaska's past while securing her future through the Jesse Lee Home. We are rehabilitating an amazingly beautiful historically significant building and turning it into the Balto School - a magnet high school that teaches our best and brightest the skills that Alaska's next generation of leaders will need to boldly forge into our future.

I enjoyed hosting ABC Alaska Political Insider, discovering not only what the issues were, but who the people were behind the issues. Hosting Alaska Daily gave me the opportunity to explore how rich and robust our slice of Alaskan life is. Anchoring the news on FOX and ABC offers an exciting opportunity to tell the story behind the story, relating news in such a way that we can understand how the headlines impact our lives.
