John moved to Las Vegas for a few years to spread his wings and go to college, but it didn’t take him long to realize he is an Alaskan at heart. He was born in Anchorage, and this is exactly where he want to be!

He's really a radio person gone TV. Some of you may know him from mornings doing sports on KFQD 750. Or perhaps you recognize his voice from co-hosting the morning show on KBRJ 104.1, The Wake Up. Although he has a strong radio background, he feels at home on TV with Your Alaska Link news. Being in radio for so long, he conquered my “going live” butterflies before coming to TV — He's constantly building on media knowledge he already had, and it’s a great opportunity for him to try something new.

Outside of work, he's always been into athletics, and he loves watching sports on TV, especially MMA, football, and baseball.
He has a black Pug named Mater, and that little man is his world! He’s a pretty cool dog.
