Pearl Grace Rasmussen

After interning at the station during the summer of 2013, I am thrilled to officially be a part of the team spring of 2014!

I have lived half my life in two of the most well-known cities in Alaska. I was born in the state capital and lived there until 2003 when my family decided to be closer together, we moved to Anchorage. I have always had an interest in journalism, and you can always catch me writing a plethora of notes.

I am currently a senior at UAA pursing a degree in Journalism and Public Communications with a concentration in Integrated Media. I started off with radio at UAA's college station, KRUA 88.1 FM, where I was a sports reporter for a year and a half. I expanded my broadcasting experience when I produced and hosted UAA's "The Coach's Show."

I came to FOX/ABC shadowing the sports department, and fell in love with journalism all over again. Wanting to explore the career more in depth, I have decided to move away from sports, and enter spot news. My career goal would be the main anchor here in Anchorage.

This lifelong Alaskan enjoys painting on canvas, writing, canoeing, hiking, fishing, and enjoying a good Alaska Aces hockey game.

I hope to travel all around the world, but l know that once I step off the plane onto Alaskan soil, I am home.
