Bill Walker is a life-long Alaskan and is with the law firm of Walker & Levesque, LLC. Bill was born in Fairbanks and lived in Valdez for 30 years. He served as Mayor of Valdez prior to he and his wife Donna going to law school. Bill’s area of practice has focused on Municipal Law and Oil and Gas development. His firm serves as City Attorney to the City of Valdez and a number of other cities/Boroughs throughout Alaska. He serves as general counsel to the Alaska Gasline Port Authority which was established in 1999. The Port Authority, a consortium which includes the City of Valdez and the Fairbanks North Star Borough, was formed for the purpose of building or causing to be built the All Alaska gasline Project. Bill has served as General Counsel to the Port Authority since prior to its inception. He has a long history with efforts to build an all Alaskan gasline.
Bill lived in the old town of Valdez at the time of the earthquake and has a vivid memory of that event. He will explain how the earthquake impacted Valdez and his personal story of that day’s events.
