I joined Your Alaska Link in July of 2013 just after graduating from Seattle University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
I am from a small town just north of Seattle called Mukilteo (Muk-ill-tee-oh). Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have always had a soft spot for the weather. I worked as a weather intern with KOMO 4 TV in Seattle producing the weather segments for the 4, 5, 6 and 11pm newscasts and this only ignited my career choice.
Even before working for KOMO, I decided to go chase tornadoes in the Midwest. After the 30 hour drive from Seattle to Kansas, I landed an EF-4 tornado with 200+ mph winds, with a width of a quarter mile wide. It was an experience I will never forget and I hope to go chasing again at some point in my life.
Currently, I am pursuing my second degree through Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology Program, in order to better forecast Alaska's weather.
I am extremely excited about being in Alaska. Surprisingly, I look forward to the snow and winter months where I can break out the skis and head to the slopes. When I’m not on the mountain I will be found spending time with my fiancé.
