Anchorage resident Jeanne Marie Carrier, 60, died Feb. 24, 2008, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Jeanne was born May 20, 1947, in Rumford. She was a 1965 graduate of Mexico High School and a 1967 graduate of the Maine School of Practical Nursing in Waterville. She came to Alaska in 1977.
Jeanne had been employed with Maine Medical Center in Portland. More recently, she worked for Providence Alaska Medical Center for several years and was retired from ERA Aviation. She most recently was employed with Nordstrom.
She was a member of Holy Family Cathedral.
Jeanne enjoyed traveling, photography, spending time with her daughter Tanya, bird-watching, reading and laughing with friends.
"Her beauty radiated from within, through her laughter, kindness, thoughtfulness, forgiveness and her deep, unwavering faith," her family recalled. "A humble and yet classy lady, she is an example to all those who were blessed to know and love her on how life should truly be lived. Her loss leaves an emptiness that only our Lord will fill."
She is survived by her greatest joy, her daughter, Tanya Carrier of Alaska; mother, Dorothy Thibodeu Carrier of Maine; sisters, Patricia Perry, Denise Chessie and Cheryl Child, all of Maine; and brothers, Gerald Carrier, Philip Carrier and Denis Carrier, all of Maine, and Marcel Carrier of Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emile A. Carrier.
