Elmer T. Feltz
Wasilla resident Elmer T. Feltz, 79, died April 23, 2007, in Anchorage of a stroke.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Wasilla Senior Center, 1301 Century Circle. A gathering of friends and family will be afterward.
Elmer was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y. He moved to Alaska in 1961.
He was employed as a virologist at Roswell Institute in Buffalo and with U.S. Public Health in Alaska. He retired as a virologist.
Elmer was active in community service, and on the day of his death, he was recognized by Gov. Sarah Palin for years of volunteer service.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jessica; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Reggie and Jerri and Tony; grandchildren, Erika, Nicholas, Matthew, Katie, Aaron, Benjamin and Natalie; and many well-loved brothers, sisters-in-law, cousins and close family friends.
