Wasilla resident Violet Lorraine Milburn-Chivers, 65, died May 23, 2007, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hullinger Mortuary, 457 E. 300 North, Roosevelt, Utah. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
She was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Curtis and Mary White-Milburn. She married Glenn W. Chivers on Aug. 7, 1961.
Violet became a resident of Wasilla in 2000. She worked for Princess Tours on the train and at Wal-Mart.
Her family wrote: "Violet, also known as Vi, Nan and Mom, loved her children and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, cooking, spending time with family, and doing everything she could for others. Vi had a kind heart and a beautiful soul. She touched many lives in her time and will be truly missed."
She is survived by her three children, James and wife Laurie Chivers of Orlando, Fla., Randy and wife Kristina Chivers of Wasilla, and Shelly Chivers-Reid of Denver, Colo.; stepchildren, Coleen Edwards of Morgan, Utah, Weldon Chivers of Kenai, Joyce Boren of LaPoint, Utah, and Clay Chivers of Vernal, Utah; mother, Mary Marie White and husband Al Logan of Rock Springs, Wyo.; sisters, Winnie Nuhn of Anchorage, and Billie Jo and husband Roy Moyer of Rock Springs; niece, Shanie Pettengill of Anchorage; grandchildren, Glenn Tracy Chivers of Rock Springs, Shawn and wife Stephanie Huber and Shad and wife Angela Huber, all of Lapoint, Utah, Rahsheem Reid of Tucson, Ariz., Tyler, Hayden and Logan Chivers of Wasilla; 12 step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Chivers; brother, Roy Milburn; niece, Mariane McCarty; and great-grandson, Waylon Huber.
She will be buried next to her husband, Glenn, at the Vernal Cemetery in Vernal, Utah.
Arrangements are with Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
