Anchorage resident Eva Maria (Demientieff) MacArthur, 76, died June 4, 2007, at the Mary Conrad Center.
Eva was born March 13, 1931, in Holy Cross. Her wishes were that she be cremated with no visitation or services. She requested that her ashes be scattered over the Chena River in Fairbanks near the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was married and where she renewed her marriage vows 50 years later. Eva was married May 21, 1951, to Donald N. MacArthur, who died in May 2006.
Eva had worked at Pump Stations 10 and 12 and retired to her home at Little Lake Louise. During her younger days, she would hunt and fish.
Eva enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her garden and greenhouse, beading, knitting and Elvis Presley. She liked to plant flowers on the hills along the road. She also enjoyed picking blueberries with her grandchildren and passing down many traditions to them.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas of Anchorage and Donald Jr. of Little Lake Louise; grandchildren, Jennifer, Genevra, Kimberly and Nicholas; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Mary Demientieff; sisters and brothers-in-law, Caroline Demientieff, Joanne and George Holly, Tiny and Jack Devlin, Shirley and Dean Merculief, and Irene Catalone; and many other family members and extended family throughout the states.
Arrangements were provided by Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary & Crematory.
