Lifelong Robert John Buckalew, 54, died July 31, 2007, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Eighth Avenue and F Street. The Rev. Norman H.V. Elliott will officiate and David McDaniel of the Salvation Army will participate.
Mr. Buckalew was born Dec. 27, 1952, in Anchorage at Providence Hospital to Judge Seaborn Jr. and Marcella Buckalew of Anchorage.
Robert was a lifelong Alaskan. He graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1971 and went on to graduate from Brown University and the University of Virginia Law School. For the last few years Robert was employed as records clerk at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program in Anchorage.
Robert was an ardent hockey and baseball fan and a lover of all Alaska outdoor activities.
His family wrote: "Robert will be greatly missed by everyone he touched."
Robert is survived by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Seaborn Buckalew III and Lois; niece, Christine Buckalew of Anchorage; niece and her husband, Elizabeth and Brian Kirby, and their daughter, Maria; uncle, Col. Perry and his wife Shirley Hudel of Summerville, S.C.; aunts, Anna May Mungovan of Houston, Texas, Ches Hudel of Dallas, Texas; and numerous other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program, 660 48th Ave., Anchorage 99508.
