Estrella A. Salurio, 76, died Aug. 24, 2007, at My Father's House Assisted Living Home in Anchorage.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2901 E. Huffman Road. The Revs. Fred Bugarin and Tom Lilly will officiate.
Mrs. Salurio was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Catbalogan, Samar, Philippines, to Mateo Aguirre and Natividad Advincula. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She was married to Deogracias R. Salurio of Trinidad, Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines.
Mrs. Salurio was a retired public school teacher who taught in Trinidad, Calbayog City.
The couple came to Alaska in December 1993 and eventually became U.S. citizens. From 1993 to 1998, they lived in Kodiak. Since 1998, she and her husband had resided in Anchorage.
Mrs. Salurio stayed home and enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
Estrella's loving and compassionate heart were an inspiration to her family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Martin Obong of Calbayog; daughter and son-in-law, Arminda and Oscar Concha of Dagum, Calbayog; son, Deo Salurio Jr. of Anchorage; daughter and son-in-law, Marietta "Mayette" and Gilbert Morein; daughter, Lani Salurio; son, Matt Salurio of Binan, Laguna, Philippines; son and daughter-in-law, Raul and Mhel Salurio of San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines; daughter and son-in-law, Elvira and Billy Agustin of Binan, Laguna, Philippines; sister and brother-in-law, Loretto and Antonio Rosales of Manila, Philippines; 25 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deogracias R. Salurio.
