Iris Jane Short, 67, died Sept. 1, 2007, at Providence Extended Care, of complications from Parkinson's disease.
Visitation will be from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, 10431 Brayton Drive. A funeral will be at 3 p.m. at the church. Pastor Brad Sutter will officiate. Pallbearers are Jack Parret, Hieu Le, Bill Robek and David Diller.
Mrs. Short was born June 18, 1940, in Comins, Mich., to Glada and Vernon Diller. She graduated from Fairview High School in Fairview, Mich., in 1958. She married James L. Short of Stryker, Ohio, on June 24, 1961, in Fairview.
Mrs. Short, along with her husband and four children, moved to Alaska in 1977.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Reta Diller of Anchorage; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Bertha Diller of Fairview; daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Michael Fields of Anchorage; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Annette Short of Brooklin, Ontario, Canada; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Stephen Rhoads of Bellingham, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Sarah Short of Anchorage; and grandchildren: Joshua, Dara, Tirzah, Joanna, Jonathan, Skyler and Jake of Anchorage, Leah, Caleb, Alaina and Lydia of Brooklin, Ontario, and Katlian of Bellingham.
