ANCHORAGE- A three-year contract with Anchorage's public school teachers has been approved by the Anchorage School Board.

The board unanimously approved the contract Monday night.
Board member Natasha Von Imhof voted for the contract but says she had reservations
She said it will cost another $24 million over the next three years and she's not sure how the district will pay for the increase without additional state money.
The contract gives teachers 1 percent annual salary increases and a $1,500 bonus in years one and three.
The district will save money on health care costs by cutting insurance to half-time employees. Also, the district will not make contributions for workers who choose not to have health insurance coverage from the district.
