Stevie speaks with Laurie Kari of Family Promise Mat-Su about their upcoming event, the "Cardboard CIty".

The event, in its 6th year, raises awareness and funds for those in the Valley who've lost their homes. For $50 a box, participants can learn what it means to sleep outside without a roof over your head, complete with a soup and bread line. The event will be at the Palmer Fairgrounds on Friday, July 19th, at 5:30 pm.

Kari says that the Family Promise Mat-Su has helped over 1,000 families this year already keep their homes, in conjunction with HUD. Their continued mission to fight homelessness also includes classes to help those in the program learn to become and stay self-sufficient and successful!
