Fairbanks Area

The Arts-to-Hearts Children’s Ministry Team and the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church youth will present “Arise My Love” at 7 p.m. today at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at the corner of Peger Road and the Mitchell Freeway. Seasonal vocal music and a dramatic blacklight presentation of three acts depicting the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ will be featured. Free children’s Bibles and personalized Bible covers will be given to the first 25 children who need one.

The program will also be presented Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Fairbanks Rescue Mission Chapel, 723 27th Ave. Both presentations are open to the community.

Anglican Church of St. George

At Anglican Church of St. George, the Rev. Paul Bachmann will conduct a prayer service tonight at 6 and will celebrate Holy Communion at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Masonic Lodge, 427 11th Ave. The services are in accordance with the 1928 Book of Common prayer. Corinthian Baptist

Corinthian Baptist Church of Fairbanks, 1679 23rd Ave., will host Resurrection Sunday sunrise service at 6 a.m. Easter Sunday with the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Fairbanks conducting the service. The IMAF includes: Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Corinthian Baptist Church, St. John Baptist Church, New Jerusalem COGIC, First Church, First AME Church and New Hope COGIC.

A Good Friday service will be held at 7 tonight at the church. Part of worship will include nailing confessed sins to a life-size cross, dramatic dance and song by the Mass Choir-Voices of Corinthian, Baptisms, preaching the “Seven Last Sayings of Christ from the Cross.” Suggested attire is black out of mournful reflection.

This Sunday is Frangelism Sunday (Friends, Relatives, Associates and Neighbors.) At First Presbyterian Church, 547 Seventh Ave., Easter will be celebrated with the Easter Cantata “God With Us” at both worship services, 8:45 and 11 a.m. Nursery is provided at all services.
