Governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd announced on Friday the birth of their fifth child. This is the second Palin boy in the family, and according to a press release the governor and Trig Paxson Van Palin are doing well and resting comfortably.

At 6:30 a.m. Trig Palin was born, about a month before the governor was expected, weighing in at 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

While in Texas at the Governor's Energy Conference on Thursday, the governor began labor where she gave a keynote address. However she made it back to Alaska in time to deliver the baby.
