Anchorage, AK - Two of the victims of a fatal plane crash that occurred over the weekend have yet to be identified by Alaska State Troopers. Megan Peters, a trooper spokeswoman, said the names won't be released until the state medical examiner can confirm the identities.

State agencies, such as the troopers, by law are not able to release the name of the victims until the next of kin have been notified.

On Saturday, a float plane crashed on the west side of Cook Inlet, across from Nikiski. The plane's 60-year-old pilot, Thomas Iversen, was a resident of Nikiski.

After the impact, the plane became rapidly engulfed in flames, said Peters. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
