A 12-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a truck as she crossed the Glenn Highway in Anchorage has been identified. Brand Oktollik was the daughter of Ashley and Molly Oktollik, who, according to the girl's grandfather Martin Oktollik of Point Hope, was living in Anchorage at the time.

16-year-old Jenilee Francis of Anchorage was also killed in the accident at Bragaw Street early Saturday morning.

Francis, who recently moved from the Western Alaska village of Chevak, was intoxicated at the time, said police.

Two other women crossed the street that night. 18-year-old Maryann Kanrilak and 23-year-old Leona Asicksik, both were also under the influence of alcohol.

All four were illegally crossing the highway at a construction site, police said.

Truck driver Joseph Gilpin of Wasilla said he never saw any of the girls until he hit two of them, who were wearing dark clothes.
