ANCHORAGE- A house fire in a southwest Alaska village killed three people and injured two others.

The fire broke out about 6 a.m. Friday at a home in Nunam Iqua.

Alaska State Troopers say 14 people were in the home.

Villagers used buckets and then hoses to put out the fire but could not extinguish the flames before most of the house had burned.

Troopers say the two injured were flowed to Bethel for treatment of smoke inhalation and minor burns and then taken to Anchorage for additional treatment.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
