Alaska Air National Guard rescues woman from McCarthy

Guards 210th,211th and 212th Rescue Squadrons land Pave Hawk

A local emergency medical technician from McCarthy contracted the 11th Air Force Rescue Coordination Center for assistance for a women suffering from cardiac complications.

Weather was preventing evacuation of the women for medical attention. An HC-130 King aircraft from the 211th Rescue Squadron and an HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter from the 210th Rescue Squadron were dispatched.

Each of the aircraft had a team of Guardian Angels from the 212th Rescue Squadron aboard. The Angels are highly-trained medical personnel made up of a pararescue specialists and a combat rescue officer who specialize in conducting high risk missions.

The women was loaded on to the helicopter and transferred back to Elmendorf Air Force Base, then to a local hospital where she is reported in stable condition.
