SITKA- The body of a 33-year-old Australia man has been found at the bottom of an Alaska harbor.
The man has been identified as John W. Schroeder, who was a crew member on a yacht visiting the southeast Alaska town of Sitka. Schroeder was a resident of New South Wales, Australia.
Schroeder was last seen leaving a bar across the street from the ANB Harbor late Thursday night.
Sitka police say crewmates called police shortly after 5 p.m. Friday after Schroeder didn't show up for work on the 120-foot yacht Valkyrie.
The Sitka Dive Team was called in and found Schroeder's body.
The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
Sgt. Bill Bandy says police are investigating.
