Crash Leaves 34-Year-Old Man Dead in Anchorage

Anchorage police say speed and alcohol were likely at play in a crash that left a 34-year-old man dead Saturday.

ANCHORAGE- Anchorage police say speed and alcohol were likely at play in a crash that left a 34-year-old man dead Saturday.
Stephen Christopher Kenney was killed when he failed to negotiate a curve while driving about 70 mph in a 30 mph zone on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in East Anchorage.
The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday. The pickup left the roadway and went over an embankment and through a wooden fence.
Kenney's passenger was not seriously injured. The passenger told police both he and Kenney had been drinking at a party.
