FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks police say they're investigating gunshots fired at a housing complex by a drive-by shooter.

Lt. Dan Welborn states someone just before 9 a.m. Thursday fired shots at the Birch Park I housing complex in south Fairbanks.

At least seven high-caliber rounds were fired into an apartment. No one was hurt.

Witnesses say the shooter was among multiple people who drove off in a sport utility vehicle. Police were given a partial license number and later in the morning found an abandoned vehicle that matched the description. The SUV had been reported stolen.

Police checking the apartment found 40-year-old Etienne Devo of Anchorage hiding inside.

He was wanted on a $20,000 arrest warrant on a drug charge and was arrested.
