Fairbanks Man Suffers Gunshot Wound
A Fairbanks man is recovering from a gunshot wound to his thigh.
FAIRBANKS- A Fairbanks man is recovering from a gunshot wound to his thigh.
Police at 8:40 p.m. Friday took a call from an apartment in the 1600 block of 24th Avenue in south Fairbanks.
Police Sgt. Kurt Lockwood says the wounded man and the shooter are both in their 30s and knew each other.
The shooter has not been found. Lockwood says the shooting did not appear to be a random event.
The wounded man refused an ambulance ride to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and instead was driven by his girlfriend.
Police recovered a bullet that passed through the man's thigh.
Lockwood says it was fired from a handgun and appeared to be .380-caliber round.
