Grant proposals submitted for outdoor recreational areas
Dozens of organizations have turned in proposals for projects across the state.
ANCHORAGE- Dozens of organizations have turned in proposals for projects across the state.
Now the Outdoor Recreational Trails Advisory Board is meeting to decide which future projects to fund.
Applicants are looking to expand on current outdoor projects or fund entirely new ones.
Projects are given a score between zero and 100, with the potential for bonus points if projects are kid-friendly and heavily backed by the community.
From adding snow machines, to trail maintenance and design, this year's proposals are across the board.
The board will make their recommendations for approved grants tomorrow. Then it is up to Director Ben Ellis for final approval.
