ANCHORAGE- A 20-year-old woman charged with driving drunk, hitting a pedestrian and speeding away on July 20, entered a not guilty plea in Anchorage on Saturday.

Kayla Johnson was arrested late Friday and held on $75,000 bail. The man injured in the accident is still in the hospital, recovering from his injuries.
Johnson told a magistrate she did not need a court-appointed attorney.
Outside the courtroom, the family of 18-year-old Tevin George said he was continuing to improve, but was still unable to speak, sit or stand on his own.
George is the latest victim in a series of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in Anchorage.
