ANCHORAGE -- Over the last decade, a new kind of child injury has developed.

"Coming on the market with flat screen TV's has been great for technology," saidf Sara Penisten, Alaska's Coalition Coordinator at Safe Kids Alaska. "However, its created a complete a totally new furniture design in that we have TV screens that are wide and thin."

Penisten says if a TV is not mounted properly on the wall, its at risk to fall on a young child reaching up.

"They tend to be more top heavy than bottom heavy, and they aren't anchored like the old big TV's," added Penisten.
