ANCHORAGE- About 300 phones are still experiencing technical difficulties at state offices Monday afternoon.

Sharon Leighow, a spokeswoman for Gov. Sean Parnell, says they should be fixed by later Monday or Tuesday.

A partial phone outage was connected to a upgrade being conducted by World Wide Technology, a subcontractor hired by state phone service contractor GCI.

Leighow says about 1,100 state phones statewide were initially affected among the 16,000 phones that received the upgrade.

Phones at state Division of Motor Vehicles offices were affected, but Leighow says they are working again. DMV offices remained open during the phone outage.
