New Medicare Scam in Wake of Health Care Confusion

 ANCHORAGE- The public is asked to be wary of a new scam involving callers claiming to work for Medicare. 

According to officials, confusion surrounding the new health care marketplace has given scammers a way to cheat medicare recipients of their money and personal information. 

Officials say many Medicare recipients have recieved phone calls telling them they need to purchase a new Medicare card. Despite the new health care makretplace, Medicare recipients are still covered by their insurance, and do not need to purchase or change anything to keep their coverage.
