ANCHORAGE- Anchorage police are investigating separate shootings involving the same gun that put two men in the hospital with non-life-threatening leg injuries.
Police say the first man was holding the gun when it discharged inside an apartment Thursday morning. The circumstances of the second shooting are still being investigated.
Police spokeswoman Dani Myren says that shortly after 9 a.m., officers were responding to a report that a man had just been shot.
When the police got there, they learned there was a second victim.
Police say the first man dropped the gun after shooting himself then set out for the hospital. As he was leaving, another shot was heard.
The second man - who knows the first man - also was struck in the leg. Medics took him to the hospital.
