TATITNA- The National Transportation Safety Board says one person is dead and another seriously injured after a small plane crashed on takeoff in Tatitna, Alaska.
The Piper PA-18 crashed into trees at the end of a 1,200-foot gravel airstrip on Friday evening.
Clint Johnson, chief of the NTSB in Anchorage, says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Tatitna is about 73 miles southeast of McGrath, which is a couple hundred miles southeast of Anchorage.
