Troopers boost patrols for the Fourth of July

 ANCHORAGE, AK --Alaska State Troopers are planning to increase their patrols for this fourth of July weekend period. 

State Troopers say the enhanced patrols began Wednesday and will continue through the holiday weekend.

The Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol will be focusing on patrols where traffic will be heavy including the Seward and Sterling Highways.

Officers will be keeping their eyes out for aggressive and distracted driving.

Wildlife troopers will also be boosting their patrols on fishing enforcement.

Troopers say officers will continue their boating safety awreness and looking for boat operators under the influence.
