Palmer Jury Convicts Machete Murder

The Palmer jury hearing the case against 29 year old Christopher Erin Rogers has rendered its verdict following a week long trial. Thursday the jury voted to convict Rogers of first-degree murder for the brutal December 2007 machete attack on his father as well as first-degree attempted murder on his fathers fiance, Elann Moren.

Palmer District Attorney Roman Kalytiak says it is the worse murder he's seen.

When the verdict was announce Rogers had little reaction despite facing the prospect of over 100 years in prison. He still faces 10 more charges next month including an another murder charges for his shooting of three people and the death of 27-year-old Jason Wenger.
