Airline CEO says safety changes are underway
The head of the company that owns Alaska commuter airlines cited in a critical federal report says the document doesn't reflect safety changes the company has made.
Ravn Alaska CEO Bob Hajdukovich tells reporters the National Transportation Safety Board report is a step behind company efforts.
He says everything requested in the board's letter has happened or is in the process of happening.
The NTSB called on the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the Ravn family of companies, which includes Ravn Alaska, Ravn Connect and Corvus Airlines. They formerly did business as Hageland Aviation, Era Aviation and Frontier Flying Service.
The report called for a comprehensive safety audit after two fatal crashes and five other accidents or incidents and an audit of Federal Aviation Administration oversight.
