ANCHORAGE- A driver attempting a good deed wound up with a ticket Tuesday morning following a multiple vehicle accident on the Glenn Highway.
Anchorage police spokesman Jennifer Castro says in an email that the pileup happened just after 6 a.m. on the highway's inbound lanes, near the South Peters Creek exit.
A driver claimed he saw sparks coming from under a truck that was in front of him. He passed the truck, parked in the left passing lane and tried to flag down the truck driver.
However, police say a third vehicle hit the truck, which then hit the parked car belonging to the man attempting to help. A motorcyclist ditched his bike to avoid the accident.
Castro says James Paul Crocker was cited for reckless driving and having no insurance.
