Anchorage, AK -  A family is piecing their home back together after waking up to car lights inside their living room and kitchen.

Around 2:30 Saturday morning Anchorage Police say they received a call of a vehicle inside a house near the 1400 Block of Atkinson Drive.

Police say a black Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading East on Kepner Road when it lost control and smashed into a car parked in the homeowners driveway before going into the house itself.

One of the homeowners described the moments right after the crash.

"You couldn't see anything, it was so dark, dark, all you could see when we came out of our bedroom was lights coming through the wall and we couldn't see anything and someone said it's okay we called 911, is everyone okay, is anyone hurt and we couldn't see anything.", said Homeowner, Nina Dahl.

Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries to the seven people inside the home.

Police say the occupants of the SUV initially fled the scene, but they eventually caught up with the driver 19 year old Evan Schubert who officers say blew almost two times the legal limit when breathalyzed.

Schubert was taken into custody and was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, seven counts of Reckless Endangerment and taken to the Anchorage Jail where his bond has been set at $11,000.
