Giant 'Looking for Love' banner falls in Fairbanks
A giant banner that hung in Fairbanks for more than three years is now a crumpled heap in the pack of a pickup truck.
Someone over the weekend cut down the banner, which covered nearly four stories of the Polaris Building, the city's tallest.
Reports say the banner was conceived by New Orleans artist and former New York Times graphic artist Candy Chang. It was hung in April 2011.
Chang creates art in communities to help revitalize public space. The Polaris Building has been empty for more than 10 years. The banner had a simple message: "Looking for Love Again."
The banner was found in the middle of the street over which it was raised.
There has been no decision on the banner's future.
