Work continues on the new library and museum project in Nome.

Reports say designers from the Canadian firm which will help plan the exhibits that will go inside the new 8,000-square-foot Carrie M. McLain Memorial Museum visited Nome this week.

The new building will be on the north end of Steadman Street. Work is on schedule to have utilities in place and the land cleared by the end of summer.

Ground should be broken by the end of this year's construction season, allowing assembly of the building to start this fall.

If everything goes to plan, the new building should be completed and the library in place by the end of 2015. The museum will follow in 2016.
