Weather officials say the amount of rain seen this week in Interior Alaska has come down in near record amounts.

Reports say 3.31 inches of rain fell from Tuesday to mid-day Wednesday. That's the third wettest two-day period in 102 years of record keeping in Fairbanks.

National Weather Service meteorologist Rick Thomas says that's only the fourth time in history with back-to-back days with more than an inch of rain each at Fairbanks International Airport.

The rain has prompted flood warnings, watches or advisories for nearly every stream and river in the Interior.
